Burj Khalifa, The Tallest Man-made Structure In The World

Burj Khalifa (Arabic: برج خليفة‎ means "Khalifa Tower") also known as Burj Dubai is a skyscraper in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Burj Khalifa is currently the tallest man-made structure, at 828 m (2,717 ft).

Designed by the Chicago office of Skidmore, Owings & Merrill LLP (SOM) with Adrian Smith FAIA, RIBA, consulting design Partner, the Burj Khalifa's architecture has a three-block print as an abstraction of Hymenocallis flower. Tower consists of three elements arranged around a central structure. Modular Y-shaped structure, with setbacks along each of the three wings of the course provides a stable structure and composition of the slab gives a good life. Twenty-six coil springs to reduce the levels of cross-section of the tower in stages, such as spirals into the sky.

A Part of Burj Khalifa Interior
The central core appears at the top, and culminates in a sculpted spire. Seen from the base or in the air, Burj Dubai is suggestive of common domes in Islamic architecture.

Design of the Burj Khalifa is derived from patterning systems of Islamic architecture. The Y-shaped plan is ideal for residential and hotel usage, with the wings maximizes outward views of Arabian Gulf and inward natural light.

The interior design of Burj Khalifa public areas features glass, stainless steel and polished dark stones, together with silver travertine flooring, Venetian stucco walls, handmade rugs and stone flooring. The interior is inspired by local culture, while being aware of the condition of the building as a global icon and residence.

More than 1,000 pieces of art adorn the interiors of Burj Khalifa, while the residential lobby of Burj Khalifa will display the work of Jaume Plensa, featuring 196 bronze and brass alloy cymbals representing the 196 countries of the world.

The visitors in the Burj Khalifa lobby will be able to hear a distinct timbre as the cymbals, plated with 18-carat gold, are struck by dripping water, designed to imitate the sound of water falling on leaves.

Inside, Burj Khalifa featured with Fine dining restaurant on level 122, 900 Burj Khalifa residences, 37 office floors, 160 guestrooms and suites of Armani Hotel Dubai, and 144 private residences Armani Residences Dubai. Outside the tower, Burj Khalifa also featured with The Dubai Fountain, Observation Deck, and Burj Khalifa Park.
